TLDR – One of if not my favourite political podcast 11/10 – John Rating
The podcast is hosted by Alistair Campbell (Former director of communications for Blair) and Rory Stewart (former Conservative MP and cabinet minister).
Their differing backgrounds allow for interesting and thoughtful insights into current affairs and the inner workings of political parties, whilst the motto of the podcast is agreeing disagreeably, you would be forgiven if you would be hardpressed to think of a subject they don’t agree on. Added to this, their combined experience working with and for their respective parties makes them equipped to tell funny anecdotes that shows The Thick of It is more realistic than one might hope. Whilst both at times wear their ‘party hats’ very fimly it never stops the podcast being very enjoyable, plus the podcast covers international politics not just UK politics allowing one to be informed on a whole array of political events with Rory being studious in explaining the context of a political event. If one seeks to be more informed about politics as a whole and wants to listen to people with more expertise from themselves then The Rest is Politics is a podcast I recomend wholeheartedly.
